Brief Introduction:

The Jawaharlal Nehru University constituted under the Jawaharlal Nehru University Act 1966, (53 of 1966) came into existence in 1969. The approach of the University has been to evolve policies and programmes which will make JNU a distinct addition to the national resources in higher education. The University has various Schools of inter-disciplinary research and teaching besides some Special Centres of Study.

Admission to JNU is based on the performance of candidates in the All India Level Entrance Examination. The final selection is based upon the performance of candidates in the CBT for all programmes of study, except M.Phil. and Ph.D. For Selection in M.Phil. and Ph.D through CBT mode, candidates are called for Viva-voce and final merit list is made with 70% weightage to CBT score and 30% weightage to Viva. Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees as well as certain Diploma Certificates are awarded by JNU under 16 Schools and Special Centres available at the University.

Entrance Exam Pattern:

Here we are mentioning the complete JNU Admission 2020-21 Exam Pattern for all the students who desired to take admission in JNU. Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination- JNUEE 2020-21 will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) online mode only. There will be 100 multiple choice questions of 100 marks. The exam duration will be a total of 3 hours or 180 minutes. All other Important details such are given below:

Nature of Questions in JNUEE 2020-21 Exam:

All the questions in JNUEE 2020-21 exam will be of Multiple Choice type (MCQs). The question will have 4 options, candidates must select the most appropriate answer.

Total Number of Questions in JNUEE 2020-21 Exam:

JNUEE 2020-21 will have a total of 100 multiple-choice questions.
(Some Subjects/Papers may have different nature or number of questions, Please refer the Prospectus for detailed and subject-wise information.)

Mode of Exam:

UGC NET will be conducted in online mode/ Computer Based Test (CBT) only. Each candidate will be allocated a desktop with a pre-installed software specially created for the examination. Make sure to check that the system and the mouse is working properly before the exam commences.

The medium of Question Paper:

The Question Paper will be available in English language only (Language courses may have exception).

Marking Scheme and Negative Marking:

1 mark will be awarded for each correct response. There is no negative marking in the JNUEE 2020-21 examination.

Eligibility Criteria for JNUEE 2020-21

NTA has released the eligibility criteria for the JNUEE 2020-21 examination. Candidates must fulfil all the eligibility conditions to be eligible for JNUEE exam. The eligibility criteria for JNUEE 2020-21 is as follows:

Educational Qualification or Qualifying Examination and marks:

  • BA (Hons) 1st year: 12th or equivalent exam with minimum 45% marks. Appearing candidates can also apply.
  • BA (Hons) 2nd year: 1st year of any bachelor degree or any equivalent with minimum 45% marks with adequate proficiency in the concerned language.
  • MA in Various Languages: Bachelor degree or equivalent in any stream with minimum 45% marks with adequate proficiency in the concerned language.
  • MA in Economics: Bachelor degree or equivalent in any stream with minimum 50% marks and knowledge of 10+2 level mathematics
  • MCA: Bachelor degree in any discipline with a good knowledge of mathematics with 55% marks required.
  • M.Tech in Statistical Computing: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research or in any branch of Science, Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering, MCA with 55% marks.
  • M.Tech in Computer Science and Technology: Master’s degree in Computer Science,  Statistics,  Mathematics, Operational Research, any branch of Science, any branch of Engineering, MCA with 55% marks required.
  • M.Sc in Life Sciences: B.Sc. degree or equivalent in any branch of basic or applied science under 10+2+3 pattern of education or B.E./B.Tech/MBBS with at least 55% marks.
  • M.Sc in Life Sciences: B.Sc. or B.Tech or equivalent in Biological, Physical or Agricultural Sciences or Biotechnology with at least 55% marks.
  • M.Phil: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in the concerned subject.
    Relaxation to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/Differently abled as per the UGC Regulations 2016.
  • Ph.D.: (a) Obtained 2 years M.Phil Degree with at least 55% marks of a recognized University/Institution (with dissertation/seminar/viva) or one year M.Phil with 55% marks with additional one-year research experience of a recognized University/Institution and one publication and 55% marks or equivalent in Master’s Degree.
    (b) Master’s Degree with 55% marks or equivalent Grade ‘B’ in UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent Grade in a point scale wherever Grading system is followed).
    Relaxation to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/Differently abled as per the UGC Regulations 2016.

Age Criteria:

  • The Minimum Age limit for B.A. (Hons.) Programme is 17 years as on 1 October 2020. There is no age bar for any other programme.

JNUEE 2020-21 Online Application

The National Testing Agency (NTA) Invites online Application from the eligible candidates to appear in Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (NJUEE) 2020-21 for admission various Under-graduation (B.A. B.Sc. etc), Post-graduation (M.A., M.Sc. etc.), M.Tech, M.Phil, Ph.D and other diploma & certificate courses. This exam will be conducted to be held from 11 May to 14 May 2020. The Test will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only. JNUEE 2020-21 Exam Admit Card

Admit Card of JNUEE 2020-21 exam will be released by NTA on April 30, 2020. Registered candidates can download their Admit cards for JNUEE 2020-21 from the NTA JNUEE official website. To download JNUEE Hall ticket, candidates have to login on the website using their credentials.

In case candidates are unable to download Admit Cards from the website, the candidate should approach the Help Line between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm from 30 April, 2020 to 07 May, 2020.

JNUEE 2020-21 Result

JNUEE 2020-21 examination Result will be announced by 31 May 2020. NTA will declare the result of JNUEE 2020-21 exam on its official website i.e. https://jnuexams.nta.nic.in. or www.jnu.ac.in.

Answer Key:
Final answer key of the JNUEE 2020-21 exam will be released when the examination is over i.e 15 May 2020. Candidate can check their answer key/online response through their login credentials once it is available on NTA official website.

Cutoff Marks:
JNUEE 2020-21 cutoff will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) along with the declaration of the JNUEE result by 31 May 2020. JNUEE cutoff is basically the minimum marks that candidates need to secure in order to qualify the exam.

The cutoff list will be released category and course-wise. Candidates can check the JNUEE 2020 -21 cutoff on the official website of the exam. We will also provide the Direct link (will be available soon) for JNUEE 2020-21 exam cutoff.
